About the show

Why can an OCD thought feel so real, even when part of you knows it doesn’t make sense? Why does reassurance only help for five minutes? And why is it so hard to stop checking, reviewing and trying to work things out? I’m Dr Liz White, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist specialising in OCD and anxiety. In this podcast, I break down what keeps OCD going, explain approaches like ERP and Inference-Based CBT in plain English, and help you understand how to start responding differently. Because making sense of OCD is an important part of getting unstuck from it.
