Content Policy

Overview
Pod is Life ranks and recommends podcasts using chart data from the platforms we track. This policy explains which shows we list and what happens when a show breaks the rules.
It applies everywhere a podcast appears on podislife.com and in the Pod is Life app: charts, podcast pages, curated lists, recommendations, search, featured placements, and creator profiles and tools such as share cards and rank badges.
AI-generated podcasts
Podcasts made entirely by AI are removed from Pod is Life completely. That means the show's page, its chart positions, its place in lists and recommendations, and its search results all come down.
By "purely AI-generated" we mean shows where the hosts, voices and scripts are produced by AI with no real people making the show. Podcasts that use AI tools for editing, audio cleanup, transcripts, translation or show notes are fine and stay listed.
If you come across a show you think is fully AI-generated, email admin@podislife.com and we'll look into it.
Hate speech and dangerous activity
Podcasts our content team finds to be engaging in hate speech or promoting dangerous activity lose their visibility on Pod is Life.
Hate speech includes attacking or dehumanizing people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar traits. Dangerous activity includes encouraging violence, self-harm, or acts likely to get someone seriously hurt.
When a show crosses this line, we may:
- Remove it from charts, lists, recommendations and other discovery tools
- Mark all links to and from its page as nofollow
- Ask Google to de-index its page on our site
- Lock the creator out of their Pod is Life profile, including share cards, rank badges and recommendation settings
Our content team handles these cases one at a time and decides which steps fit each situation.
Adult and explicit content
Adult and explicit podcasts are allowed on Pod is Life as long as they're still available on the platforms we track. If a platform pulls a show, it drops off our charts the same way any other show would.
Illegal content is never allowed. Any material that sexualizes minors or shares intimate content without consent is removed immediately and reported to the appropriate authorities.
Reporting a violation
If you think a podcast on Pod is Life breaks this policy, email admin@podislife.com with Content Policy Violation in the subject line so we can investigate.
It helps if you include:
- The podcast name and a link to its Pod is Life page
- The episode and rough timestamp, if it's about something specific that was said
- A short note on which part of this policy you think it breaks
We read every report. We may not reply to each one individually, but the reports are what our content team works from.
Enforcement, appeals and changes
Pod is Life decides what appears on the site and in the app. We may also decline featured or sponsored placements for any show, including ones that are otherwise allowed under this policy.
If your show was removed or restricted and you think we got it wrong, email admin@podislife.com with Content Policy Appeal in the subject line. Tell us the show name and why you think the decision should change, and the content team will take another look.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
