About the show

When did you last ask yourself what you actually want, before thinking of everyone else? The second half of life is when women finally become dangerous – in the very best sense. I'm Cornelia, and every Monday I share unvarnished stories from my life on the west coast of Ireland, with a twinkle in my eye. It's all about what becomes possible once you start putting yourself first again. This podcast is for women who have spent a long time, maybe even decades, being there for everyone else, at home as much as at work. Some call this endless urge to keep everyone happy people-pleasing. I call it an old habit we're allowed to let go of at this stage of life, with a good dose of humour. The title gives you a hint of what to expect. The hay is real life, the funny bits and the messy bits. Heaven is those moments when you stop for a second and suddenly see further than the next fence. In between, you'll find stories and life lessons many of us only discover later in life. Sometimes an episode starts in the middle of an ordinary day and ends with a question that stays with you for days. I spent my first career as an engineer and later trained as a therapist. Today I live on the rugged west coast of Ireland as an audio mentor, together with my donkeys. They taught me one of my most important lessons: when something doesn't feel right, they simply stop. And so can we. A new episode of about 15 minutes comes out every Monday. Listen whenever you have a few minutes just for yourself, on a walk or in the evening before you fall asleep. Subscribe so you never miss an episode.
