  • What WON'T Unite the Nations | Doug Wilson

    October 19, 2026 · 13 min

There are two sorts of unity that are set before us in this memorial, one of them rebellious and idolatrous, and the other submissive and obedient. By confusing the languages, God scattered an early attempt at rebellious unity at Babel…

  • What Should Christians Think Of The Execution of Hassan?

    October 15, 2026 · 8 min

Put this another way. Suppose Hassan were going to be hanged in a stadium. Nothing wrong with that. Do you let vendors sell popcorn and hot dogs? Of course not. Do you sell tickets? Of course not. You obviously must have tickets, but they…

  • Dinesh and the American Fixer-Upper

    September 25, 2026 · 10 min

Just a few short days ago, Dinesh D’Souza decided to start talking trash about Calvinism online, and—let us be frank—that created something of a set-to. The imbroglio consisted of two parts. One part had to do with the standard doctrinal…

  • Thoughts on the Eric Erickson Imbroglio

    September 24, 2026 · 14 min

Last week Eric Erickson published an article that claimed to have connected a lot of dots on what has come to be called the Woke Right. That article is here. He traced a lot of our woes back to Charles Haywood, a big donor on the hard…

  • The Brilliance of Ancient Man

    September 22, 2026 · 13 min

One of the intellectual problems that conservative Christians have is that they have allowed evolutionary assumptions to seep into their understanding of human history downstream from the question of our origins. They deny the theory of…

  • The Wiki-Me. And the Weal Me.

    September 16, 2026 · 9 min

Last week we taped an episode of Man Rampant for our upcoming season, and the interview was with Larry Sanger, the man who initially built out Wikipedia. He has done quite a number of other things since those early years, some of which…

  • Big Fat Sinners, All of Them

    September 9, 2026 · 11 min

In Doug's continued dialogue with Ehud, Wilson talks about 'Big Fat Sinners, All of Them'... In my last letter, I addressed (and answered) the belief that some Christians have had that consigns Jews to the status of “Christ-killers.” That…

  • The American Creedle

    September 7, 2026 · 12 min

I have to begin by saying that I like Neil Gorsuch. I like the fact that he is on the Court. Despite a few unfortunate votes, his presence there is pretty reliable and steady. He voted to strike down Roe, and so he has won my friendship…

  • Psychotic Empathy

    September 7, 2026 · 7 min

As I write these words, the trial of Lindsay Clancy in Massachusetts is wrapping up. She killed her three kids a few years ago, and the trial is over whether she did so in the grip of postpartum psychosis, and so not guilty by reason of…

  • Both Brilliant and Blind

    September 2, 2026 · 12 min

I first read Eric Hoffer’s book The True Believer in 1984, over forty years ago now. I had also read Orwell’s 1984 in that same year because I thought it was an appropriate time to get around to it, and you could kind of see where things…

  • Reflections on the Tattooed Lady

    August 27, 2026 · 8 min

Nancy Mace has had an interesting and somewhat conflicted career. For just one example, she was the first woman to graduate from the Citadel, and during her congressional stint she was an active voice in opposing the use of women’s…

  • Who Needs Whom?

    August 25, 2026 · 8 min

Doug continues his series of his letters to Tyler... When you showed no signs of changing your mind for week two, the tone changed completely. After a few badgering sessions, she seduced you. A couple days later, there was some mild…

About the show

The point of this podcast is pretty broad — “All of Christ for all of life.” In order to make that happen, we need “theology that bites back.” I want to advance what you might call a Chestertonian Calvinism, and to bring that attitude to bear on education, sex and culture, theology, politics, book reviews, postmodernism, expository studies, along with other random tidbits that come into my head. My perspective is usually not hard to discern. In theology I am an evangelical, postmill, Calvinist, Reformed, and Presbyterian, pretty much in that order. In politics, I am slightly to the right of Jeb Stuart. In my cultural sympathies, if we were comparing the blight of postmodernism to a vast but shallow goo pond, I would observe that I have spent many years on these stilts and have barely gotten any of it on me.
